Smoke and Mirrors

Soon in Palffy Palace

Smoke and Mirrors, an intergenerational group exhibition, critically examines contemporary transformations in the political interpretation of the world. The hegemonic and ideological shifts in public discourse that we are currently experiencing in Slovakia extend beyond the borders of nation states to form part of a global system.
They are founding a cultural, social, and economic reality that is moving away from democratic principles towards authoritarian regimes and growing inequality.
The exhibition seeks to contribute towards the development of open community formats of sharing and perspectives of social reconciliation. It calls for a need to develop political imagination and new alliances based on the understanding of complex contexts and the identification of common interests of the working class.
