Let's Talk Art! Look, Pressburg!
25/05 / 5:00 pm
For foreigners living in Slovakia, for friends and visitors from abroad, or to improve your English. Regularly, once a month, one early Thursday evening is dedicated to an English tour of current exhibitions or permanent exhibitions.
The exhibition represents a journey through the historical city of Pressburg, showcasing its areas in diverse perspectives, varying media, and different periods from the earliest surviving views of Maximilian's coronation in 1563 up until the emergence and use of photography. Capturing the character and atmosphere of the city across various eras, the artworks portray city panoramas, as well as partial views of squares, streets, and prominent buildings. The imaginary journey via Pressburg will take visitors not only through the city, but also through related historical events. This rich visual experience is delivered through numerous restored graphic works from the Collection of pre-1900 Drawings and Prints of the Bratislava City Gallery, as well as little-known photographs from the collections of the Bratislava City Museum, the SNM – Historical Museum, the Slovak National Archive and the SNG Archive of Fine Art.
The meeting is led by Vladislav Malast, lecturer from the Education Department, Bratislava City Gallery.
