From the aspect of style, a small sized but interesting permanent exhibition of Gothic panel painting and sculpture corresponds with the fragments of Gothic architecture preserved at Pálffy Palace. The exhibition documents three centuries - from the 14th to the 16th century - of artistic production preserved on panel paintings, sculptures and reliefs in the collections of Bratislava City Gallery. This permanent display, however, has not the ambition to present a complex development of Gothic art in Slovakia. The sculpture of Madonna from Vajnory, created around 1320, is part of the exhibition. It is the oldest work of art in the gallery collection.
